the comments are turned off in the starbucks post, so i’m here instead.

a la toting stuff around…i’d meant to do this long ago, and then, when I did, to tell you:

i thought about it everytime i bought bottled water, but when everyday trash went live, i finally bought a few 20 oz. heavy duty plastic water bottles so that a)don’t have to spend a ton of money on bottled water and b) i’m not throwing away plastic everyday, that is likely never to be used again. wash, refill, wash refill. it’s pretty easy.

next up: bringing a plate and silverware to work, so I’m not using the paper and plastic in the kitchen when i *do* bring my own lunch.

writing this makes me feel like a big huge dork. i think that’s part of the problem. all this is a long way of saying: we need definitely some posh, stylish, yet down-to-earth superstar to wash away the dork stigma and bring hipness to toting reusables.

Sorry about the comments, I don’t know what happened or how to tweak it so I deleted the post and published it again. Real plates are a good idea, we have them in the kitchen at work. My friend with whom I was discussing tupperware says her mom keeps old yogurt containers in the car and runs out to get them to bring home left-overs from restaurants. Frump factor aside, it’s just easier to carry around the equipment when you have a car.

I wonder how long it is before we start mining olfd landfill sites for hydrocarbons, and metals that were in the products we threw away.

    Not long, I’m sure!
