…has a very troublesome map over the plastic soup melange in the Pacific. Note that there are 100 million tonnes of trash floating around, dubbed “Eastern Garbage Patch” and “Western Garbage Patch”.

    The video and companion blog are extremely comprehensive, and the site shows a little animation of water currents to explain just how all that floating plastic ends up in one place. I must admit, I haven’t watched all 12 episodes. Perhaps I’ll invite a friend over for a marathon this weekend.
