It’s here! It’s finally here! Here’s an early roundup of the gorgeous decorative dumpster images found around the garblogosphere today:
- Co-host Ruby Reusable of Olympia Dumpster divers has photos of the painted dumpsters of her community as well as comprehensive links to tricked out dumpsters all over the Internets (we expect no less from the premier dumpster diving art blog);
- Victor of everydaytrash.com (that’s us!) has not one, but two submissions from his native Stockholm as well as the Southern Swedish town of Malmö;
- I feature a project by trashy flickr photog buzzygirl who has been documenting the same graffitied dumpsters over time since 2002;
- Last Night’s Garbage shares lovely flowering trash cans; and
- unconsumption has a repost of this rad repurposed dumpster from Urban Prankster (this may be more of a happy coincidence on urban prankster’s part, though we like to think DDD has subliminal power).
More to come as participants send in their links. Stay tuned. And send your dumpster pics—today and every day.
UPDATE: MadSilence joins the party with a post on the art of the dumpster.
UPDATE: Gutter Envy in the house!
P.S. Special shout out to the Yanbukis, we hope you’re documenting the dumpsters you decorate today!

Japanese dumpsters (or lack of) part 3
Dad was kind enough to post my little story about my first recycling experience because I couldn’t find any interesting dumpsters in time for Decorative Dumpster Day. So I applied myself to the problem and remembered something that’s tickled me for a while: very creative ash-tray pictures! They’re attached to the side of public ashtrays reminding people (cutely) not to let their butts go everywhere…
