GigaPica, a Dutch website honoring the art of photographic journalism (firmly asking you not to post their pictures on your blog, how very 90’s) has what I believe to be the worse images of trash yet published. It’s just horrible, but really worth a look.

the very first image, of the child floating face up amidst all of that garbage, is very disturbing, and the rest of the pictures are so depressing, I am almost sorry that I started my morning this way, but yet I can not look away, amazing how truly horrific the problem of waste is in the world!

Stunning and horrific. That one with the man amidst dead fish holding up a netful is so beautifully composed and so awful at the same time.

Artfully captured, these images clearly put us in our place amongst our waste. Our habits of consumption are so humiliatingly revealed.
