Just stumbled across this link via unconsumption:
Hello. We are Kept. We’re not selling anything. Just the opposite. We want you to keep the stuff you’ve already got. To use it. To wear it. To celebrate it!
Post your own stories of things you kept instead of throwing away, or tweet them with the hashtag #kept. Supercool.

Okay, I get it. But the idea of keeping all my stuff makes me want to cry. Why? Because I have too much, and other people could make use of a lot of it. I’ve made a new rule that for every one thing that comes into our house, at least 2 things have to go out. I just took a huge bag of craft/school supplies to the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse yesterday after finally realizing I was never going to complete some of the projects that have been on my “To-do” list for years. It was freeing.
So, yes, I agree we should use what we have before buying new stuff. But if we have too much stuff to begin with, we ought to spread the wealth around.

Here, here. Keep what you would replace. Share what you don’t need. And even some of what you do need!
Your comment has me thinking of ideas for a Ramadan-themed post. Thanks, Beth.
