Polka dotted trash

by

Check out this post over at Olympia Dumpster Divers where the fabulous Ruby Reusable has collected some neat links on fancy trash bags migrating about NYC this summer.

The project, TRASH: Any color you like, uses 100% biodegradable bags naturally scented with peppermint and bugglegum to repel vermin.  Reminds me of how my grandmother used to use stale Juicy Fruit to kill moles, but that’s a story for another day.

    Love it.

I bought a bunch of fun-colored garbage bags once just to be different.

They used to have pink, dunno where that went. Garbagemen have a monotonous job. In addition to perking up the surroundings, maybe seeing cute bags brightens those san workers’ days? 😛

I did not realize that the bags were scented! Nice looking AND nice smelling trash, very NICE! Can you actually catch a whiff while walking past?

Will verify smellability if I pass any!

juicy fruits and moles? How does that work then? One tatse of sweets and they never eat worms again… and so they starve to death?
