Now I know a blog is no place for fundraising, but I wanted to share a free way to give money to an amazing organization whose mission is fully in line with that of everydaytrash.com. City Harvest, New York City’s premiere food rescue organization, gets $5 for every new Facebook fan to join their page by Tuesday.
Every pound of food City Harvest distributes is a pound of would-be-trash averted. Click here to help rescue food from restaurants and make sure it gets to hungry families.

Thanks, Leila.
For more on using what New York City’s high living can contribute by passing things along:
“Shhhh Salvage Makes Dumpster Diving Look Fashionable – was the teaser for this New York Times story about Janet D. Clancy who salvages the massive decor and construction remains (seeming acres of wall drapery fabric, flooring, plywood, etc) from fashion shows in NYC as well as theater sets and such.
She’s gotten something going — spread the word. She links the supply flow directly to the new users — so the materials only have to be transported once.

I seldom write comments, however after reading through a few of the remarks here City
Harvest | everydaytrash. I do have 2 questions for you if it’s allright.
Could it be just me or does it appear like a few of these comments appear
like they are written by brain dead people? 😛 And, if you are writing on additional online sites, I’d like to follow everything fresh you have to post.
Could you post a list of all of all your social community pages like your Facebook page, twitter
feed, or linkedin profile?
